Avoiding food because of allergy, intolerance, sensitivity, and a wide range of health issues (e.g. celiac, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.) is tough. Here are some suggestions, ranging from how to manage social situations to shopping tips to recipes. Also in this website: discussion of impact of culture, sociology and psychology on our efforts to eat differently than most people.
To learn more about me, Erin Anne Beirne, website author, check out these blog posts, starting with this one about the day I finally learned why I was so sick (for so long), and this one about my early days of trying to eat differently (hint: it was nearly a disaster!). Some days it is still a struggle, but I’ve been at this now since 2001, so I’m finally getting the hang of how to survive — and even thrive! I hope my chatter about my discoveries, struggles, ideas, and adaptations is helpful for you, too.
Please do leave comments: I’d love to hear what you find works well for you, and what struggles you have, too. I know there is so much more I can learn, and it’s nice to know I’m not alone…
I’m looking forward to “meeting” you!
